Games Emerging Talent Scheme
Northern Ireland Screen has launched the Games Emerging Talent Scheme, focused on developing the next generation of games talent in Northern Ireland.
The scheme supports Northern Ireland-based game production companies that are working with emerging Northern Ireland resident talent to develop an original, short-form narrative game.
Successful projects will receive support to produce a playable prototype and a release-ready, self-contained game suitable for publication on digital platforms such as Steam or itch.io.
Who the scheme is for
The scheme is open to game production companies based in Northern Ireland. Companies must have identified an emerging talent (IP creator) who:
- is resident in Northern Ireland
- is not a principal of the company
- is not currently leading IP generation work within the business.
The scheme is designed for individuals at an early stage in their creative leadership journey, helping them build skills, confidence and experience in leading future projects.
What the scheme offers
The scheme offers:
- funding and structured mentoring to support the development of an original short-form narrative game
- opportunities to work alongside experienced games studios and industry professionals
- support to develop original IP, strengthen production capability and enhance the company’s pipeline of future project leaders
Mentoring will be provided by the participating studios and industry professionals engaged by Northern Ireland Screen.
How to apply
Potential applicants can join an information event on 3 September 2026 at Ulster University, York Street, Belfast BT15 1ED.
