Scaling The Edge is a fully funded programme by Innovate UK designed to support SMEs and early stage startups to validate and accelerate their ideas into scalable products and services.

What is Scaling The Edge Programme?

The programme is a people centric, bottom-up approach to developing innovations in-house and back winning ideas using tried and tested concepts.

This approach helps gather rapid and accurate market feedback on the likely success of your business idea, de-risks the chances of market failure, increases speed to market and clearly identifies your key target markets.

This programme is open to all SME’s from any industry within the UK who want to upskill and incentivise staff and radically change innovation culture. We are particularly keen to encourage applications from under-represented groups, including companies with female-led project teams and those companies developing net zero solutions, sustainability, Artificial intelligence and deep tech innovations.

The programme will take place over 8 weeks and will include;

• 2 days of interactive online learning about Strategyzer’s lean methodology from innovation and commercialisation experts.

• 4-step methodology with ongoing tailored support and guidance for market discovery and digital testing:

• Value Proposition design.

• Business Model Canvas Design.

• Business Ideas Testing.

• Market Engagement.

• Access to a digital expert

• Pitch Training to present project idea at a final Options Roundabout.

• Identifying routes to follow on funding with partners including Innovate UK.
