Catalyst’s Invent is an annual competition that showcases local innovations and proof of concept ideas that have the greatest commercial potential.
The event provides a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to:
- gain high profile exposure and recognition
- market validate their ideas
- unlock a quality network of influencers
- The winners also share a prize fund of £33,000.
Who can apply?
To be eligible to apply, your innovation or proof of concept idea must fit into one of the following categories:
- life and health sciences
- enterprise software
- creative media and consumer internet
- engineering
- electronics
- agri-science
The competition is open to anyone with an innovative idea, from students and postgrads through to executives with side projects and retired people with a solution.

27 March 2020 – applications deadline
7 April 2020 – qualifying rounds briefing night and pitching workshop
w/c 20 April 2020 – qualifying rounds
2 May 2020 – Invent semi-final
3 September 2020 – final pitches
8 October 2020 – Invent Awards Night at ICC, Belfast
