How to Access Business Support This Autumn
For many, the autumn time is a season to take stock and plan our next step, whether that be in education, work, or business.
You might be thinking about how you can start, grow or scale your own business, but taking that step can be daunting – and expensive.
Thankfully, there is a range of help available, and that is exactly why Go Succeed is here. However, many don’t realise that we also provide access to grant funding that can have a major impact on your future business plans.
It’s important because turning a great idea into a thriving business takes more than ambition, and quite often, funding is needed to remove barriers and unlock growth potential.
What support is available?
Go Succeed grants can provide up to £3,000 towards eligible capital costs, covering 50% of your project spend.
They’re designed to tackle real barriers to growth, whether that means upgrading equipment, introducing new technology, or boosting your digital presence.
Typical projects include:
- Specialist machinery to increase productivity
- Computer hardware or software to streamline operations
- Website development or e-commerce tools to assist in opening opportunities in new markets
- Funding is paid retrospectively, so you’ll need to front the costs initially, but the return on investment can be transformative
Who can apply?
Go Succeed grants are available to businesses that are actively trading and engaged with our support services.
To be eligible, you’ll need to have completed at least 60% of your mentoring sessions and clearly show how your project will remove a barrier to growth.
Your business should also employ fewer than 50 full-time staff and operate within your local council area.
The funding is competitive, so it’s worth being clear and specific about the difference your project will make.
Need extra inspiration?
Already, millions of pounds have been distributed to businesses across Northern Ireland, making a real and tangible impact in every council area.
Among recipients, Co Tyrone business Curious Farmer used the money to purchase equipment that dramatically increased their pie production capacity; and Belfast-based production studio 1620 expanded their podcast recording facilities; while the purchase of new plant and equipment by Ballymena electrical contractor FCS Services has set them on course for a five-year plan to double in size. Can we include a quotation/snippet of what they said about receiving the grant?
The possibilities and potential are huge. Take the next step!
